– Dr. Alan Calegari and Daniel Mayer appointed as CEOs to Lead Company’s Expansion in the Cognitive Computing and Text Analytics Market in the U.S.
Expert System (EXSY.MI), the leader in multilingual cognitive computing technology for the effective management of unstructured information, today announced a new organizational structure for its U.S. operations, placing increased emphasis and distinctions within the Public and Private sectors.
The announcement comes following the closing of the acquisition of TEMIS.
Cognitive computing has taken a leading role to solve some of the more important information-related challenges for any organization. However, Public and Private sector needs and priorities can be significantly different. To effectively address these different needs, Expert System will create a new organizational structure centered on two separate companies:
- Expert System USA, Inc., the legal entity of Expert System, operating in the US market since 2008, will be fully dedicated to the Public sector market including Critical Infrastructure, Intelligence, Defense, and Law Enforcement;
- TEMIS USA will become Expert System Enterprise, and will integrate the current private sector business of Expert System in the US. The company will target the broad Private market with a focus on the Publishing, Energy and O&G, Life Science and Financial Services sectors.
“Following the acquisition and the integration of Temis, we have created a global organization which combines the two companies’ market and customer presence. We see the result of this strategic initiative effectively positioning Expert System for a new phase of growth”, said Stefano Spaggiari, CEO of Expert System S.p.A. “By realigning capabilities and missions focused on specific market sectors and requirements, we will strengthen our global leadership position in cognitive computing and text analytics. There is tremendous value in effectively accessing and exploiting information, but the needs of public and private sector entities are very different. We understand these differences and have created the optimal footprint to address them organizationally and operationally in the best possible way.”
As part of the organization changes, Alan E. Calegari, Ph.D. has been selected and appointed CEO of Expert System USA, Inc., which will be headquartered in Alexandria, VA. Dr. Calegari and his team at Expert System USA, Inc. will work closely with Kiernan Group Holdings, Inc. (KGH), an established and highly recognized company operating in the Defense, Intelligence and Law Enforcement sectors. Dr. Kathleen Kiernan, CEO of KGH, and Expert System have signed an operating agreement establishing the base of cooperation between the two organizations.
“These are very challenging times where analytical capabilities related to unstructured, structured and social media data are pivotal to assess situations, conditions and threats. We at Expert System USA, Inc. and Kiernan Group Holdings are uniquely qualified to address such challenges and our common operating objectives are aimed at transforming the world of cognitive computing analysis”, said Dr. Calegari.
