At the heart of the Sypcit project is an app created for consumers and a platform developed for the Italian police force.

Known as “MP-Shield”, the app was designed for consumers and is available for free to anyone with a smartphone on the Android system. It enables internet navigation with a heightened awareness of the possible risks: automatic tools that monitor data exchange activities, whether clear or operating in the background of a user’s device, ensures secure navigation. For example, the user will be immediately alerted if a phishing email has been opened (video link), or when entering personal information on sites considered malicious or potentially unsafe by the Sypcit platform.

The Sypcit platform was conceived as a tool for Italian law enforcement. At the base of its functionality is a system of semantic analysis for web sources that categorizes and classifies content according to a set of criteria to automatically identify potential risks. This will allow investigators to take advantage of material that has already been structured and analyzed so that they can work more effectively and with greater focus.

“We are very pleased to have been part of the development of such an interesting and timely project for the mobile community,” commented Luca Scagliarini, CMO, Expert System. “It is a solid example of the advantages that the cognitive and artificial intelligence technologies at the base of our Cogito platform can offer for the automatic analysis of information, even in very sensitive environments such as online identity theft prevention.”

Additional information on the Sypcit project, including materials and multimedia tools, are available to consumers   at www.sypcit.it. A conference on Sypcit will be held on September 5, 2016 in Milan at the Palazzo delle Stelline.
